2009 PAUL W. SMITH GOLF CLASSIC RAISES $416,000 NET FUNDS TO BENEFIT DETROIT YOUTH

Tournament organizers are happy to announce that the Sixth Anniversary Paul W. Smith Golf Classic benefiting Think Detroit PAL was a huge success.

DETROIT – August 17, 2009 – Tournament organizers are happy to announce that the Sixth Anniversary Paul W. Smith Golf Classic benefiting Think Detroit PAL was a huge success. Thanks to the overwhelming support from the local business community, the 2009 golf classic netted $416,000 – bringing the total net funds raised to more than $2 Million in six years.   

The 2009 Paul W. Smith Golf Classic was held Monday, August 17.

This will allow tournament sponsorship dollars to have an even greater impact on the youth of Think Detroit PAL.

The sixth annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic, one of the top fundraisers for Think Detroit PAL, is scheduled for Monday, August 17, at the Detroit Golf Club.

The sixth annual Paul W. Smith Golf Classic, one of the top fundraisers for Think Detroit PAL, is scheduled for Monday, August 17, at the Detroit Golf Club.  Over the past five years the tournament has netted $1.6 million to benefit Detroit’s youth.  Sponsorships are still available until and range from $2,500 to $20,000.

Think Detroit PAL was formed by the merger of Think Detroit, Inc. and the Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL), making it one of the largest inner-city sports leagues in the nation.

How You Can Help - Sponsorships Available

Since 2004, The Paul W. Smith Golf Classic as allowed more than 7,000 youth to participate in Think Detroit PAL's educational, athletic and leadership programs by raising more than $1.6 million.
